Los Grietas
Getting to Los Grietas also known as dolphin's fissure required 80 cents each for a 5 minute water taxi ride. It's 200 meters in length with steep walls 10 meters high while the water depth is 10 meters. The water is cool and clear consisting of salty sea water and fresh rain water. Unfortunately we arrived along with a large group of 20 plus kids, 3 mama's, and 1 very loud American leading the pack! Steve went ahead and swam away from the chaos while I stayed on the rocks to watch over our day pack. He swam away to serenity through both narrow sections as I swatted at the mud wasps invading the area. I also wanted to swat the obnoxious American with his overbearing voice blasting away as though he was king of this tranquil place. Some people have no respect for the space and solitude of others!!! I certainly can understand how we unfortunately get grouped as a similar nation. It'd nice to switch culturally like a chameleon. Sad how one man can be so unaware and disrespectful of his surroundings. People should realize their also ambassadors. We're not at a hockey game, so annoying and RUDE!!!!! Once Steve returned I had a quick cool dip and we headed back to a nearby lagoon. Ahhhh a quiet beach were others knew how to chill and enjoy! Later did the reverse trip by water taxi back to the main pier. So adorable to witness a mother sea lion breast feeding her pup! The local wildlife just don't care about our close proximity and go about heir own business. Gotta love it! We've read and been told by guides etc.. to keep a minimum of 2 meters from any animals, don't feed the animals, and don't use a camera flash yet daily people break these simple rules. Example, if a human touches a baby sea lion it will be rejected by the herd. No wonder guides are required in the national parks. We along with others have told people to back off and shut their f*#king flashes off. Idiots! We so understand how locals must tire of the ignorant tourista's!
